Feeling blessed to have had the opportunity to travel with Daaji, the Global guide of Heartfulness Meditation, during his North American tour, May-July 2024.
7th June 2024: Daaji conducting a group meditation session in Atlanta, Georgia.
7th June 2024: Group meditation at the Georgia World Congress Centre.
The North American tour itinerary:
Monroe township- New Jersey, Atlanta- Georgia, Dallas- Texas, Austin- Texas, Washington DC, Richmond- Virginia, Raleigh- North Carolina, Charlotte- North Carolina, Detroit- Michigan, Monroe township- New Jersey.
Through countless learnings, moments of interiorization and immense spiritual connections, I find myself brimming with joy, contentment, and gratitude that surmounts all other.
Whether it was the profound satsangs or periods of collective silence, I tried to be a sponge in the midst of all the happenings, soaking every bit of experience while I pondered over what every interaction was trying to teach me.
Not a day passed where I felt more rooted in my spiritual practice and every meditation session, whether individually or in a group, left me feeling “full”, for a lack of a better word to describe my condition.
In one of his many talks throughout the tour, Daaji spoke about the regulation of the “monkey-mind”. He quoted his Guruji and said, “Just as the eyes are to see, ears are to hear, tongue is the taste, so is the mind to think.” Further quoting Daaji, “We simply cannot arrest the mind from its very function which is God-given. Our way of life has spoilt it somehow, so we have to discipline our own mind. Mind can be disciplined only by using the mind. The body can be built up by using the body. Create resistance, that’s why we go to the gym- to build muscles and six-packs! Nothing wrong with it- we need to maintain the body…The mind is also like that. If we don’t exercise the mind, then it’s a problem. An uncontrolled mind can never help us to be the masters of ourselves.” – 2nd June 2024, Atlanta, Georgia.
This is only one of the many instances where he spoke about the importance of regulating our minds. The reinforcement of these ideas only fuelled my meditative practice and these interactions have left me feeling more centred within myself.
Furthermore, throughout the journey, it was enriching to acquaint with like-minded people. The one constant thought that reverberated in my mind was that there is so much to learn from everyone! People are so full of experiences and personal knowledge that I had so much to take away from every conversation.
My personal project that started during the trip and continues even now:
How can I integrate my meditative practice into my daily life, rather how can I make my life meditative?
